Founded in 2023 in İstanbul and led by Volkan Taşkın and Fadime Kul Taşkın, Studio Pines brings together over a decade of experience in architecture.

The practice emphasizes a process-driven approach, focusing on inventive, design-led solutions achieved through collaboration and critical exploration. Studio Pines provides creative solutions to spatial challenges and remains open to new partnerships and collaborations.

Volkan Taşkın

Volkan Taşkın

MSc. Architect, Co-Founder

Volkan is an award winning architect and designer. He graduated from Robert College in İstanbul and studied architecture at İstanbul Technical University. He holds a Master of Architecture degree from the same university. Volkan was among the designers representing Turkey at the Rotterdam Architecture Biennale in 2005. He was also selected for an international team of architects to repurpose the then-defunct Galata Greek School. Between 2012 and 2014, Volkan co-hosted “Açık Mimarlık”, the longest running architecture radio program in Turkey. Taşkın also contributed to the architectural press with many articles and reviews.

His expertise allows him to lead projects of varying scales from masterplans, urban parks to cultural buildings, religious spaces and to interiors and furniture design. Volkan is involved in the design process of numerous projects in 15 countries ranging from the United States, Bahamas to Brazil, Saudi Arabia and Libya.

Fadime Kul Taşkın

Fadime Kul Taşkın

MSc. Architect, Co-Founder

Fadime is an architect with vast experience in architecture design as well as restoration projects. With numerous awards at the helm, she commands the Pines team with her meticulous approach to architecture and interiors. She graduated from the Architecture Department of Karadeniz Technical University in 2009. In 2019, she completed her master's degree in Architectural Design at İstanbul Technical University. She has worked as an architect on high-quality historic building projects such as the survey, restitution, and restoration project for the Huber Mansion at the Tarabya Presidential Residence.

Fadime is also a lecturer in Gedik and Medipol Universities where she directs design studio classes.
